History of Shiv Khodi
No authentic history of Shiv Khodi Shiv Tirth has been available till date. It is said in folk legends that King Salvahan of Sialkot (presently this place is in Pakistan) had darshan of Shivling in Shiv Khodi and also built many temples in this area, which later became famous as Salvahan Temple. .
There are two chambers in this cave. The outer chamber is somewhat larger, but the inner chamber is smaller. The way to go from the outer chamber to the inner chamber is somewhat narrow and of low height, through which one has to bend down. Later this path splits into two parts, one of which is believed to go to Kashmir. This route is now closed. The second path leads to the cave, where there is an idol of Swayambhu Shiva. There is a serpentine painting on the ceiling of the cave, from where water containing milk keeps dripping on the Shivling.
