Kheerganga in Kasol has rich mythological history attached to it. It is believed that during the Satyug period, kheer emerged out of the Ganga river with the blessings of Lord Shiva and Parvati. Later, on arrival of the Kalyug period, Parshuram stopped the flowing of kheer and converted it into the hot spring.
